DIANE VON FURSTENBERG BOOK

  • Wednesday, November 28, 2012 - 19:40
Well-known children's author Camilla Morton's has taken  new twist on the classic story of 'The Emperor's New Clothes'  with her brand new fashion fairy tale memoir series, the main character being famous American designer 'Diane Von Furstenberg. A tale which tells the story of two girls in their youth, one being' Diane', with true facts based on the designers life and the other being an 'Empress', who struggles with her royal duties and like all great fairy tales there is of course a moral to learn.
It would seem the story wasn't hard to tell in the glamorous, totally barking and eventful world of fashion, "once you are immersed in the designer's world, maybe it's magic but, they really do just appear to write themselves,"  said Camilla Morton. " There are so many characters and personalities…inspiration was easy to find. Diane's tory and enthusiasm is so rich that I really wanted to up the fairy tale and bring the Empress to life." The story was a joint effort between author and designer, Morton wrote the story, but Von Furstenberg drew the beautiful,  quirky and colourful illustrations, choosing the print, colour and layout of each page.
The main characters to feature in other popular books from the fashion series are designers Christian Lacroix and Manolo Blahnik, making Diane Von Furstenberg an excellent and inspirational choice for the first female to star in the iconic belgium authors story books. What a happily ever after.
The Empress' New Clothes will be available from netaporter.com from Monday November 26 2012.
